At Zetland’s Early Learning Centre we have always maintained a fully stocked and age appropriate resource of books. One of the primary aims of Zetland Children’s Early Learning Centre is to introduce books and encourage children to pick up a book and come back to it again. We commence this in the earliest age group with more sophisticated books introduced to the older children.

Our Potter Street centre has a room dedicated as a Library with different classrooms visiting throughout the week. The teacher reads an appropriate book to the children and then encourages them to find a book of interest to themselves.

Books are also displayed in all classrooms with teacher readings and time set aside to appreciate the books. This will assist the children in their pre-reading and early literacy development, which will assist them for when they go to school.
